We have had received various comments about our use of AlertPay rather than some other payment gateway - most commonly suggested is PayPal.
Firstly let me state quite categorically that we will never consider using PayPal.
This for three reasons :
So - we will not use PayPal - please don’t even ask.
I have personally looked at about ten different payment gateways and, unfortunately. none of them offers the facilities - or the support - that we enjoy with AlertPay.
A great deal of effort went into the development of the scripts used to make it simple for you to handle Birthday Requests. Unfortunately, after the development (and testing) of those scripts, AlertPay changed the rules and it is no longer possible for us to define the “confirmation URL” within the script - hence the confirmation process that we have to use.
I am aware that there are problems in the US in funding your AlertPay acounts and that some credit cards are rejected. Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do about this and we can only suggest that you contact AlertPay directly.
My personal experience of AlertPay is excellent and is a large part of the reason for using them. I will continue looking for a viable alternative but - for the time being - we will stay with AlertPay.

Personally, I believe every system has its differences. I am a self taught computer martketer (almost LOL) and NOTHING has come easy! My advice, anything that was too easy, didnt work in the end anyway. This is a wonderful, simple, common sense idea, it couldn’t get any easier! We should expect some difficulties - I am confident it will get better, all things we work at normally do, right
Yes, at this point there are hic ups, and different processes then what we all may be used to, as I said every system has its differences. It is is always difficult in the beginning to learn and accept a new system and all it has to offer or dosen’t. But my experience has always been to stick with what works! Perhaps, today AlertPay cannot help us with the confirmation process, however, I believe that once they see the need for it, the $$$ they are making and can potentially make, they will not want to lose BBC. I am confident that if we all get used to AlertPay, they will get better in time. Have a great day everyone!

Just want to add a big thank you to Tom who does his due diligence. I am SO GLAD to hear you wouldn’t touch PayPal with a 10-ft. pole…nightmares for sure. Carry on!

I am in the USA and I have had no problems funding my AlertPay account. I prefer to pay as few fees as possible so I have been mailing in money orders instead of using a credit card. It may take up to a week for my funds to become available, but that is fine with me. And I have had no problems with transactions not going through unless the person I am trying to send to hasn’t set up their account correctly.
Keep up the good work, admin!
God bless you!

Good call on Paypal. My son had $1,300.00 in his eBay earnings locked up for six months on a bad call on there part. I love AlertPay.

Have to thought of implementing a BBC debit card with visa or m/c thru one of your banks? Your BBC logo would make anice looking card and it would be handy to just have our money deposited on it.

What experiences have people in the UK had with AlertPay?
I’ve used PayPal for ages without any problems so it’s interesting to hear about problems I may have in the future.

Good choice you guys. I am a South African too and I reasoned with PayPal on this but they persistant and therefor, so am I. I have an account with them and will only pay someone if it is a must and the only means. But I prefer to stay away from them. Thnx for a great site and idea.

Most of my associates have STP (SolidTrustPay). I believe it’s always good to have more than one payment option,as there are situations where one might be down temporarily. Why not have two payment processors.

I have used Paypal for 10+ years with no problems whatsoever. Ironically, when I joined your group yesterday, I couldn’t sign on to Alert Pay as they were down for maintenance. I hope this is the only time they are “down.” Let’s face it people, nothing is for sure on the internet. We have no control over other companies how they handle the exchange of our money!

I have been using Pay Pal forever without any problem, will like to know more about Alert Pay, I feel a little scare about the site been down, I dont want to put all my information there, and then find that suddenly the site is not there anymore. Is there any other way to pay rather than Pay Pal or Alert Pay? Thanks!

I always wanted to use for many years but never have set up an account with PayPal although every now and then I did some sales or purchases on ebay. That was when I as a German still lived in Germany. But after I moved to Peru I unfortunately also found the same discrimination by them as Tom found it as a Southafrican. For some other program I wanted to join I HAD TO set up account with PayPal. Was quite some hazzle to go through and noone ever told me what I found out just after everything was et and I wanted to fund the account: Not that they had something against ME as a person. No, they told me that for Peru it is a “Send Only” account. So, after going through all the set up procedure they just in the end tell you that??? What kind of seriousness is that? While with Alertpay, which I set up when joining BBS I have had no stress at all, always prompt and friendly support and customer service. Just Great! Glad to hear that PayPal will not be taken inconsideration! Besides: for above and by Tom described and some other reasons I believe that PayPal’s days are counted anyways and that other payment processors - like ApertPay - will make the race!!

I always relied on PayPal also and have had no problems with them personally. I have heard that some marketers have gotten their money frozen for infringements to some strict rules (some reportedly done innocently) concerning the programs or the way they are marketed/represented. So…I would certainly get with PayPal upfront before even thinking of using them as a processor for any biz I would create. StormPay was created to counter PayPal’s strict guidelines.
On the other hand, my main concern with ALL other processors is what happened with EvoCash a few years back. They were rapidly becoming very popular and rightfully so. They were VERY professional!
BUT…Many people lost a ton of money through them when they suddenly shut down. Most, myself included, believe it was a scam from the start though I have seen a review that defended that it was hackers and scam artists that brought them down. (Google: Evocash scam details)
Fortunately I lost very little. I DO now hold all other processors suspect except PayPal since they were well established before EvoCash came about. Though PayPal does seem to go overboard with some of its restrictions, it is apparently for the protection of its clients.
Any other processors may well have been started by the same EvoCash people/scammers and are just biding their time until the coffers are bulging to pull the plug and run with millions more. Scarey!
eGold is also scarey. I experienced more than one claim from investment programs/scams that their egold accounts were “hacked” and so they lost your funds. I am not certain on those claims but I do know eGold takes no liability for any program that uses them. i.e. they do not screen them (Care?) at all, it seems, whereas PayPal does.
Enough on that. I am excited about BBC. Looks like a breath of fresh air! Take care all.

I have been dealing with AleryPay for three years
They can be strict, this is good protection for the customer
There are some Pay Processors that will not use AlertPay, beacuse, they
will support the customers legit compliant
