June Update

Posted on Monday, June 1st, 2009 in Uncategorized

Firstly, my apologies for the long silence. We have been extremely busy “behind the scenes” and this is the first opprotunity I have had to update everyone.

Secondly, many thanks to everyone who voted in the Newsletter Poll. Over 1,100 people voted and more than half of you asked for a weekly newsletter. Newsletters will start in the next two weeks and, initially, you will receive an email from news@mailfwd.net which will give you options for the BBC Newsletter

  • To NOT receive the newsletter at all; and
  • To receive the newsletter without adverts

We will allows one week for replies before sending out the first newsletter. The newsletter may carry a maximum of three text adverts per issue at rates from $3.50 per thousand.

Next - the sticky subject of payment processors …

In your back office, you will find links for two confirmation routines - one for AlertPay and one for Moneybookers - both are simple to use and FREE! All that they do is to confirm that you actually have either an AlertPay Personal Pro account and/or a Moneybookers account - and that we can communicate with them. What these routines do for us is to make the need for confirmation emails a thing of the past!

From July 1 2009, when you go to the Birthday Request page to make a birthday donation, you will see an AlertPay button - if the member has confirmed his/her account - and a Moneybookers button if the account has been confirmed. You will also see a third buttom - Other - which is simply a link to the member’s email address. If you want to make the donation using PayPal, Safepay, Fedex or clamshells, please feel free to do so. But - and it’s a big BUT - you will rely on the member to confirm your payment! (There will be a Thank You page in the back office to do this).

What this means is very simple.

From July 1 2009, confirmations will be automatic - if you have confirmed your AlertPay and/or Moneybookers accounts; otherwise, you will rely on the Birthday Boy or Girl to confirm your Birthday Bonus payment.

Finally, as you all know, Birthday Bonus Club is FREE! To achieve that, we have to sell advertising and we need your support in that. So - we are starting a Summer Ad Sale today which we expect to run throughout the Summer months. $5,000 of advertising is available at discounts up to 60%!

We have been testing a new ad delivery system and the new service - EASyadz.net - will launch in the next two weeks. Setting up your ads will be much more user-friendly and full stats will be available.

’til next time

Tom

I just tried to connect my moneybookers account, but got an error message. I was told by moneybookers that I cannot make a self-payment. I did get a confirmation email from alertpay. Am I to send that to you?

Thank you for your hard work.

  2. Tom Says:

With Moneybookers, don’t try to pay teh amount shown - we just need you to enter the exact amount in the form provided.

This just confirms that a payment to you - from another member - will get to your Moneybookers account.

    Thanks

    Tom

  3. Tamaresque Says:

That’s interesting. That process didn’t happen with me. I confirmed my AlertPay account but there were a few password problems along the way (I had forgotten them) and so somehow I managed to bypass coming back to this site and entering the amount.
BUT it seems I have successfully made my first upline payment, according to AlertPay! Yay! I’m on my way!

I am all set with moneybookers. I was just having a technical issue. I will try alertpay again. I was not able to confirm with them.

    Thank you.

when I try to confirm my moneybooker account through BBC I get an error message saying wrong email address, what should I do?

  6. Bruce Says:

This is good news. I really like the payment options, especially if Moneybookers and Alertpay are working.

I am having some trouble with the verification process.
My payment was successful when doing my ALERTPAY verification, but when directed back to BBC site I got a verification error. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    BBC rocks!!

  7. Raylene Smith Says:

Trying to confirm my alertpay. It is down for maintenance right now. Not sure If I have moneybookers or not.

  8. Jill Close Says:

Tom, I have followed the instructions to the letter, but have problems with both AP & MB.

With AP, when I have successfully sent the $1 test transaction, and get redirected back to BBC, this is the message I see on BBC page:

    ——————————————————————————————
    AlertPay Verify OK
    ERROR
An error occurred whilst verifying your AlertPay Account - please chk you settings and try again - thank you

    ——————————————————————————————-

There is nothing wrong with my settings, and I did try again.

With MB, I cannot get past page 2 on BBC. This is what I get when I click ‘check amount’

    ——————————————————————————————-

    Step 2
When you click on the Moneybookers checkout button below, we will create a “dummy” transaction from a random member for a random amount betweem $1.01 and $3.99.

The transaction will be handled by exactly the same process that we will use for your Birthday Bonus

All we need you to do is to enter the exact amount of the transaction below

Please enter the EXACT transaction amount - Appears as a red error message

    Transaction Amount

    ————————————————————————————

Any idea of what is happening?

  9. Jill Close Says:

Tom, with your AP instructions, I think it is very important to add a few words about disabling the test mode once the $1 test transaction has been successfully actioned, otherwise we could be back to square one with members not being able to receive gifts.

  10. Tom Says:

Thanks for the “heads up” on the confirm problems - the Moneybookers error has been fixed and I am working on the AlertPay problem.

  11. admin Says:

Both problems now resolved and everyone who might have had problems over the past few days have been marked as “confirmed”. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

    Tom

  12. squirrel605 Says:

Should we put our ap accounts back to where they were? Mine is on test mode.

Thank you for setting the confirm button on my alertpay account.

  13. Kimsta Says:

    Hello Tom,

Now that I have both AP & MB confirmed, when I check “My requests” I have about 5 people who are pending payments. I sent these payments through AlertPay in March but there’s still an astrik (*) stating the payments are still pending. What must I do?

    Thanks
    Kimsta

  14. Jill Close Says:

Hi Tom, re my post of June 3, thanks for confirming my AP account.

My MB account is still unconfirmed. I have tried again today but still receive the same error message as before.

    Hi Tom,

I was able to verify Alertpay, but not Monebookers, since it says you cannot pay to yourself. Please advise.

  17. Margot-helena Says:

Sorry, false alarm - I figured it out myslf, so now both of my accounts should be verified.

  18. Jill Close Says:

Tom, still no change with my MB problem. Please advise.

  19. Dorothy Says:

In response to Jill.I was having the same problem. Go thru again and make sure you have the correct Alert URL typed in and click Generate New.If you miss a letter it will not verify.

  20. mahmoud Says:

    thank you

  21. Jill Close Says:

Hi Dorothy, thanks for the helpful advice, but my problem is with MB, my AP account is fine. I wish Tom would be more proactive in responding here.

If anyone has an answer to the MB problem, please contact me via the forum. Thanks

  22. Jill Close Says:

Eureka, at last the MB button has worked for me, and I’ve been able to confirm it! Have a good weekend everyone

  23. Xarah Says:

I had no problems with Alertpay. The explanation and images are great. But I have problems with MB, not even Jill could help me.
I did not put an amount in the little box and I did only click on the MB logo. I end up on the payment page, with my MB email address and a different amount it seems. Of course if I attempt to login to “pay” I get the error message.
