As most of you will be aware, AlertPay is currently unable to process credit cards and this is affecting the whole Birthday Bonus Club operation. So - I have had to look for an alternative.
After a fairly intensive investigation into available options, I have decided to use MoneyBookers as an alternative payment processor. (Please don’t ask for PayPay - it’s not gonna happen!).
MoneyBookers is based in London, is available internationally, offers 32 different currency options and has very reasonable rates. From my point of view, their integration procedures are excellent and - from yours - there will be no need for confirmations! Your ratings and ad credits will be updated immediately a birthday donation has been made.
Over the past two weeks, I have :
Because of the ongoing problems with AlertPay, MoneyBookers is likely to become our preferred payment processor. We will continue to use AlertPay but that situation will be reviewed once they make some announcement regarding credit cards.
We do not intend to make the same mistake with MoneyBookers that we made with AlertPay - assuming that all members have an account! So, from today, we will insist that you verify your MoneyBookers account by making a small purchase - of Ad Credits. Today, we will launch a 50% Off Sale with rates as low as $0.50. But, for potential advertisers, it’s your chance to buy advertising at HALF PRICE!
You can find out more at MoneyBookers Ad Sale
Hopefully, with the addition of Moneybookers as a payment processor, we can get Birthday Bonus Club back on track!

I have funds in AlertPay. Do I still need to enroll with MoneyBookers?

I am just wondering why PayPal will never happen????

I’ve been using AlertPay and MoneyBookers for for several years now. AlertPay gets into a glitch every so often these days, but the good thing about it is that I can transfer money back and forth between my AlertPay account and my bank account in California, although right now I live in Singapore.
MoneyBookers is fantastic. Never had any problem with them, they’re fast too in replying your queries, unlike AlertPay which can take weeks if not months!

Ok, I know I shouldn’t quit my day job. But I’m confused once again. Do you mean my Alertpay has to be verified? Or is there something different I have to do with my BBC account. Thanks ML

Can we get paid offline if we want instead of going through another online processor. Are we going to stop using AlertPay?

I like BBC and i know we want to have members all over the world but i think there must be more options in terms of payment processors. I have paypal but i know based on what your saying it will never happen. Though moneybookers is a new one , its happening now because of Alert Pay problems . I hope there wont be problem with the new payment processor. We can never say “no problem” as final , just like with “Alert Pay” . There are situations which are beyond anybodys control, I am having problems with Alert Pay.
If we will be so strict , i just dont know what BBC can achieved. With paypal as payment processor , i still dont understand. Is it not that we will send the donation to the concerned person who will celebrate his birthday, so the donor and the celebrant can both verify that donation took place using different payment processor, just like Paypal.

I do not quiet understand the moneybookers issue.
I’ve had an account with them from the very beginning, and even fund at my account. I therefor were quiet happy to learn BBC to use this as an alternativ.
But I do not see this alternative at work though.
I have a gift to pay, but am not able to, because when I try, the only payment option showing is still Alertpay, and as so many others, I am not able to use the method at the moment.
What is that I did not understand?

I really like the premise of BBC. After reading through much of the posts here at BBC it seems as though this should be a very simple thing to do, uncomplicated! All it takes from the members is honesty with self and others. I WILL be signing up (with my real birth day) but for now I think I’ll be checking back every few days and see how things read. As for the payment options delemma, I would also like to know why the use of paypal “will not happen”? From what I know of them they are quite stable. Am I wrong about that? Its quick and easy to set-up an account with them and it sounds like its a process of several days to get an account set-up with MoneyBookers. Airmail Verification code 5 days, card verification & account credited 3 days. Would love to hear from someone with a more complete working knowledge of these things; as I may also be missing something. Thanks much. Regards to all.

I already have Paypal and Alertpay attached to my bank account, adding another one is a concern for me. And opening another bank account just for online banking is not an option at the moment.

I have had a money bookers account since they came online and have had nothing but problems with them, so in fact there is not a chance in hell that I would use them.
I have paypal and alertpay hooked up to my credit cards, and paypal is hooked up to my bank account, and to be honest with you, I trust paypal a whole lot more than a quebec owned alertpay, to many problems in that province to list.
So alternatives is what u need to look for to make this successful, and as many of us believe, paypal can be the solution, however it can only be the short term solution due to their rules…
Sending checks sounds not bad, however, for some that would be near impossible and at the same time make for a lot more work for admin, now if u could say word it differently so that we are accepted by paypal then by all means I would rather deal with someone that I have had absolutely no problems with.

I have had good luck with Alertpay.com …. they send and recieve in a resonable time frame…I use PayPal also, but only for some things…like I receive money for doing a survey and it goes there..Have not had any problems with them for that purpose.

John; I have a Moneybookers acct, How do I send money to BBC members?
May 5th, 2009 at 2:31 am
Ok, now I have signed up for Moneybookers. But it looks as though my refs and sponsor still can’t pay me, as I just paid one of my upline and there was no option for using Moneybookers, only AlertPay. Hope this gets fixed soon!

Hello
At this time, there seems to be a problem for me with Alert Pay, I do not want to set up another payment processor, since I already have Solid Trust Pay, which works excellently for me, also PayPal, which does to. I also have SafePay, which I do not use very much.
AlertPay and I are now working out their problem.
I really would like to pay my birthday gifts.
Surely there is an openness to using another pay option like Solid Trust Pay.
Just my thoughts on the subject

I have read your reasoning for not wanting to use PayPal as a payment processor, the main reason being it is not available to some members in some countries. I originally got an AlertPay account to convert money into e-gold and back without going to one of those shady processors. That feature lasted less than a month. The credit card feature lasted quite a bit longer, but in the end that too is gone.
I’ve had a PayPal for at least 8 years and have not had any of the so-called problems I’ve read about on the ‘net. Putting all your eggs into one basket is a recipe for disaster. You should consider offering at least two or perhaps three processor options. Forwarding emails as proof should be good enough verification. I have a Moneybookers account, a Solid Trust Pay account and a Liberty Reserve account, but I prefer to use either AlertPay or the PayPal.
